Top 5 Questions to Help Me Create Your Perfect Map

Are you looking to communicate spatial data, provide directions, or highlight a specific area of interest? Understanding the map’s goal will guide the design process.

Is this map intended for general public use, a specialized audience, or an internal project? Knowing your audience helps ensure the map meets their needs and level of understanding.

Are you focusing on locations, natural features, or data-driven information such as population density, historical landmarks, or environmental features?

Do you need a local, regional, national, or global map? Be as specific as possible about the area you want to include.

Will it be printed, embedded in a report, or shared digitally on a website? If printed, do you know the final size and format (e.g., poster, brochure, flyer)?

Pricing

These are general estimates of different map types and are in no way a complete list of options. The map complexity and time it takes to complete play huge roles in the pricing, but hopefully these can give you an estimate of the various map products. We can also discuss hourly rates if that appeals to your organization more.
