ABOUT the owner
HI! I’m Alyssa
Owner | GIS Analyst & Cartographer
MSc, Environmental GIS
BS, Environmental Science
I founded Aspen Acres, a name inspired by my initials (A + Spencer) and the aspen tree, a powerful symbol of connection. With their vast, interconnected root systems, aspen trees unite entire groves into one thriving network—an ideal metaphor for the way maps and spatial data connect people, places, and ideas.
My journey into the art and science of GIS began during my undergraduate studies, sparking a passion for helping others understand the world through mapping and visualization. Since then, I have dedicated my career to empowering non-profits, companies, and organizations by transforming complex data into meaningful, actionable visuals.
With a deep appreciation for clear communication and elegant design, I combine technical expertise with creative vision to craft maps that inspire, educate, and inform. Whether creating print maps, interactive web maps, or custom design packages, I believe every project is an opportunity to tell a story and build connections.
